On March 28th 2007, Sting, Stewart Copeland and Andy Summers will hit the stage in Vancouver B.C. to kick off a summer tour that will take them through major North American cities as well as venues through-out Europe.
Most dates have already sold-out and the tour will likely be the highest grossing tour of this year. There was well documented bad blood between the band members who stated that they would never play together again under any circumstances.
It seems though, that the obscene amounts of cash readily available to classic rock acts willing to take their show on the road again has changed the minds of these three formerly reluctant participants.

If the setlists from the Rolling Stones tour are used as a benchmark, fans can likely expect approximately 20 of the above songs to be included in any given show. There was some speculation that Sting might weave some of his solo work into the show but that idea has been refuted for the most part.
Some of the opening acts announced so far include Sloan, The Fratellis, Foo Fighters and Maroon 5. Fiction Plane, a band featuring Sting's son will also be special guests on the tour.
In anticipation of this tour I've dusted off some of my old Police albums and I'm enjoying them immensely.
